Salt Cay is a throwback in time with only 100 or so inhabitants and a handful of guest houses. It was once home to the thriving salt industry and there are a number of historic landmarks around the island, as well as remnants of the old salt flats used to harvest the once critical resource. Knows as an ‘island time forgot’ Salt Cay offers visitors the laid back rhythm of the olden days.

Excellent diving is available off Salt Cay and operators from Grand Turk can get you there for a day trip. During the winter (December- March) Salt Cay is also a great place to watch the graceful humpback whales migrate through the Columbus Passage (which separates Grand Turk and Salt Cay from the rest of the islands) as they head south to mate.
